The flapnose conger〔(Common names for ''Parabathymyrus oregoni'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 (''Parabathymyrus oregoni'') is an eel in the family Congridae (conger/garden eels).〔(''Parabathymyrus oregoni'' ) at www.fishbase.org.〕 It was described by David G. Smith and Robert H. Kanazawa in 1977.〔Smith, D. G., and R. H. Kanazawa, 1977 (4036 ) ''Eight new species and a new genus of congrid eels from the western north Atlantic with redescriptions of Ariosoma analis, Hildebrandia guppyi, and Rhechias vicinalis.'' Bulletin of Marine Science v. 27 (no. 3): 530-543.〕 It is a tropical, marine eel which is known from French Guiana, in the western central Atlantic Ocean.
